Social Vision

Key Concepts:

True democratic society where population has real understanding and control of the social order

An alert and knowledgeable citizenry with the background , training, and determination to monitor and maintain their society

A social fabric which  does not allow the emergence of or domination by psychopathic oligarchs at ANY level of the society. ( oligarchs are psychopaths by definition i.e. desiring power over others )

Citizenship

The main principle of SSA citizenship is the commitment and acceptance of the responsibility to participate in the social order by rendering service to fellow citizens and participating in managing and maintaining the social policies, systems, and institutions.     This is in keeping with the Strategic Social Architecture of personal responsibility for the quality and character of the society in which a person lives.

Our society is founded on consensus, agreement, and voluntary participation.  However, fulfillment of the defined and agreed upon social responsibilities is not optional.     Continued membership in the SSAF society is based on ongoing fulfillment of the defined and agreed upon social responsibilities.    It is unfair to those citizens who do fulfill their responsibilities to be providing for individuals who do not.    Non-participation and consistent failure to fulfill social responsibilities will result in the individual’s membership being revoked and all rights and privileges pertaining to and provided by SSAF suspended.

You will note that our society is focused on the health and well being of our citizens and there is no higher goal.

Our mission statement begins with this sentence:

"The Strategic Social Architecture Foundation is an organization that provides a mechanism for people to realize the vision of an intentional egalitarian society where the development and support of citizens with high moral, ethical, and social standards is the sole mission of the social order.“

This means our society is community based and not based on selfish individuality.   Individuals from modern social orders where people have been walled off from one another through cultural programming that celebrates selfish individualism and exploitation of others, will find this environment unpleasant.    Individuals from community based cultures will find this environment familiar.

This being said, individual thought, creativity, and free will are essential to a vibrant and productive society based on democratic principles.   However, destructive individualism that leads to individuals who exploit other people in order to enrich and aggrandize themselves cannot be a part of our society.

Rationale:

Axiom:  The sum total of the behavior of all the citizens in a social order determine the characteristics of that social order.

This being the case, all citizens of our social order commit to specific social responsibilities and agree to obtain and maintain the necessary training and skills to fulfill those responsibilities.    The sum total of the behavior of all SSAF citizens will create the characteristics of our social order and in this manner the goals described in the Strategic Social Architecture will be achieved.

Note that this approach to social engineering is not dependent on any political or social system.   The approach is to focus on the development and support of citizens with specific characteristics.   Political or social systems are methods for implementing social policies, are tactical in nature, and are not the method by which the strategic social goals are accomplished.

Axiom:   Human beings require some common motivation, understanding, and cultural framework to function effectively in a social order.

Historically, motivation, understanding, and cultural framework has been provided by such institutions as religion, political systems, and ethnic culture.   All of these systems share several common elements:  participants are born into the systems, receive cultural programming by those systems, and are constrained by those systems to conform to the systems norms.    None of these systems provides to the individual an understanding of the manner, methods, and final effect of the cultural programming in creating the attitudes, beliefs, personality, needs and desires, perspective, and world view of the individual.   Most individuals have limited or no understanding of how they have been preprogrammed by the social systems of their social order i.e. the cultural programming.

“We are governed, our minds molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of..”  Edward Bernays “Propaganda, 1928

The principle manner in which people are “governed” and controlled is through their cultural programming.     This common cultural programming is the basis of the collective social perspective called the “group identity”.   As Karl W. Deutsch wrote:

A nation is a group of people united by a common mistake regarding its origin and a collective hostility towards its neighbours

SSAF citizens are not conscripted into a social order by birth, beguilement, threat, or conquest.   SSAF citizens join SSAF of their own free will and SSAF citizens enter into the SSAF social contract in full understanding of the mission, vision, and goals of the society.

In the process of completing the civic skills training, our citizens develop a common perspective, understanding, and value system.   This common perspective, understanding, and value system is based on a model of personal development rather than “education”.    Our model of personal development contains 3 parts:   Theory, skill development, and practical experience.

This shared social perspective is the basis upon which all personal and social decisions are made and represents the foundation of the SSAF culture.
